Home and Away: A Writing Weekend at Saranam, Nov. 2-3

November 1 @ 7:00 pm - November 3 @ 1:00 pm$200

In this weekend workshop, we will focus on the theme of home from a variety of perspectives, each writer seeking her or his own path. You may write about coming home, leaving home, the joys and toils of making a home, the sorrow of abandoning a home. Your homeplace may be literal—for instance, a farm where generations have passed down their tools and stories—or metaphorical, a contemplation of finding a sense of belonging in another community or another realm.

In each of several writing sessions, participants will hear examples meant to inspire and encourage, spend time writing in the peaceful surroundings of Saranam, and share their drafts (if they wish) with others in the small group. Your workshop leader will provide gentle coaching in a safe atmosphere. This workshop is appropriate for beginners as well as accomplished writers.

The workshop begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening, November 1 and ends after lunch on Sunday, November 3. COST: $200.00 includes workshop tuition, lodging, and five meals. Limited space available. If workshop is cancelled due to fewer than 4 registrations by October 20, your payment will be returned in full.
